Committee has recently
announced the opening of the
Agricultural Conservation
Program which begins
November 3 and runs
through to November 28.
Applications for cost
sharing on all practices will
be accepted, however, ap
provals will be made first on
practices intended to be
installed late this fall.
The
ASC
All farmers are eligible
who own or operate
agricultural land in Lan
caster County. It is im
portant for farmers to
remember though that
applications must be filed
and approved by the com
mittee before the actual
work is begun. .
High priority practices
will be cost-shared at a 75
percent rate and second
priority practices will be
cost-shared at 50 percent. No
one farmer can receive more
than $3500 in one fiscal year.
Approvals by the com
mittee are not on a first
come first-serve basis but
are determined according to
the severity of the con
servation problem and
according to the priority of
the practice.
An additional sign-up
period will be held in the
early spring of 1981 for those
fanners who plan to do
conservation work next
summer and fall. However if
fanners plan to do work yet
this year should visit the
ASCS office during the
month of November.
