National Grange to be held

Rural America Luncheon on
Friday, November 14 at
Stouffer’s Five Seasons
Hotel. His appearance will
be one of the first by a
Cabinet officer following the
Presidential election.

but regardless of the out
come, we are Relighted to
have him with us.”
This is the first time since
1909 that the Grange has held
its national convention in
lowa. Thousands of Mid-
Westerners are expected to
attend the seven day
meeting.
Andersen said Grange
delegates will be debating
hundreds of resolutions,
which originated at the local
level, concerning
agriculture, energy, tran
sportation, taxation, foreign
affairs, education and
health. “Heavy emphasis
will be on agriculture since a
new farm program is due
next year,” said Andersen.
Other aqtivities during the
convention will include
announcements of national
winners m Grange spon
sored contests and the
selection o f Grange Youth of
the Year.
Displays of needlework,
arts and crafts will be open
to the public from Wed
nesday, November 12
through Saturday,
November 15 at Stouffer’s
sciss.
