Tours originate from the NFS Tour Center, Get tysburg. Shuttle buses leave for the farm every 15 minutes. Cost to ride the bus is 70 cents per person. The tour office opens at 8 a.m. with the first tour at 9 a.m. The last tour of the day is at 4:30 p.m., with the tour center and Eisenhower farm closing at 5 p.m. - All visitors must obtain tour tickets on the day they wish to tour the farm from the Tour Center. Specific times cannot be requested. Once at the farm, visitors can spend as much time as they like. In the large bank barn on the 189 acre Redding farm, Ike kept his horses two Arabians, two Quarter Horses, and some ponies for giving his grandchildren rides. The bam. and other out buildings are painted an unusual color that according to the National Park Service was mixed and developed per sonally by Eisenhower. The new color was chosen so that it would “harmonize” with the house a considerable change from the barn’s original red color.
