Steers were mostly steady
with late previous week.
Heifers closed firm to 25
higher. Cows were steady,
instances 50 lower late and
bulls firm to 1.00 higher.

keynote of the fed Cattle
trade during the current
week, in reflection of an
unsettled carcass trade.
Prices advanced on a
1 modest early supply, but the
early upturn was largely
erased in midweek trading.
Buyers were usually com
petitive only for minimum
numbers as they sought to
maintain an acceptable ratio
between current live prices
and carcass realizations.
The overall finish of the
Steer and Heifer supply was
attractive with a liberal
percentage Choice Steers
and Heifers, and included a
rather large showing exotic
crossbreds. Slaughter Steers
made up approximately 28
pet and heifers 27 pet. cows
comprised 6 pet and feeders
38 pet including “Colorado
Special” consignment.
