C32—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, October 11,1980 Farm Show to host HARRISBURG - The 1980 World Series of Professional Rodeo will again be featured at the Farm Show Arena Complex in Harrisburg, November 15 and 16. This is the American Final Rodeo, where only the top cowboys and cowgirls of the Rodeo Association are in vited to compete. Winners receive cash'prizes, totaling over $35,000 plus gold and silver trophy belt buckles, saddles, horse trailers. They also will be named American Rodeo Association’s World Champion bareback and saddle bronc rider, roper, steer wrestler, girls barrel racer, and bull rider. This year competition will begin at 8 p.m. Saturday the 15th and Sunday afternoon at 2:30 November 16. There will be Western wear and Saddle Shops along with Indian jewelry, crafts and other concessions-at the arena. At least one area motel is planning a Bar-b-que and Urban Cowboy Dance for the Rodeo weekend. Miss Rodeo Pennsylvania will be in competition at the Finals as will Miss American Finals Rodeo, the Queen of the 1980 show. This Rodeo has been considered by many as the finest professional Rodeo' anywhere in the North American Continent. The bucking stock is selected only from the best rodeo contractors and only his toughest or hardest to ride broncs and bulls are sent to the Finals contest here. Even these Rodeo animals rodeo champ finals are famous and champions in their own right. The York County 4-H Horticulture Club met on Sept. 29 at the 4-H Center. The program was presented by Mrs. John Smith on flower arrangements. She showed the different types of holders and vases. She also discussed design and color. NJHA was discussed. Rita Loughran wil be attending the meeting. The next meeting will be Nov. 24 at the Center. The program will feature Christmas crafts.
