York County sweeps Junior judging contest HARRIBSURG - Two Junior livestock and meats judging teams from York County swept the Keystone Livestock Exposition judging contest on Monday. Not only did the two teams place in the top two slots in the team competition, but the top five individuals in the contest were members of the York County teams. Stockman of the Year and the recipient of numerous cash awards was Leßoy Bowles, one of the members of the first place team. Next in line was Bowles’ The top five individuals in the judging contest, in order of scores, were: Leßoy Bowles, Stockman of the Year; Lisa Dobrosky; Kenny Sunday; Brenda Waiters; and Bill Wise, all members of the York County judging teams. teammate, Lisa Dobrosky, with third place going to Ken Sunday, a member of the second place team. Fourth in the individual placings was Brenda Walters, of the first place team, with fifth place going to Bill Wise, a second-place team member. The win at KILE continues the York County teams’ winning streak. Just last week, the York County 4-H members came back from the Eastern National Livestock show in Timonium with the three top team scores. Teams in the top ten at KILE included: Third - Chester 4-H, Nelson Beam, Eileen Fairburn, and Gordon Smith; Fourth - Culpepper, Va. 4-H, Julie Burgess, Debbie Fmcham, and Ken Reiman; Fifth - Clarke, Va. 4-H, Corie Childs, Elizabeth Hinson, and Elizabeth Meyer; New Castle 4-H, Mike - Sixth - County, Del. The first place team in the Keystone Livestock and Meats Judging Contest, held Monday during KILE, was the 4-H team from York County consisting of Lisa Dobrosky, Bob Livingston, Brenda Walter and Leßoy Bowles. Making the award presentation was James Glass, treasurer of the Pa. Livestock Association. Schubert, Martha Klair, and Mark Taylor; Seventh - Red Lion FFA, Beth Holtzinger, Blaine Grove, and Annette Walter; Eighth Berks 4-H, Darlene Dietrich, Allan Rohrbach, and Harold Dietrich; Ninth - Armstrong 4-H, Pete Hawkins, Gloria Polka, and Marlene McCutcheon; Tenth - Sussex County, Del., Steve Majchrzak, Chris Majchrzak; and Scott Mitchell.
