BY SALLY BAIR
Staff Correspondent
MOUNTVILLE - As the
latest crop of 4-H’ers
prepares to attend National
4-H Club Congress in
Chicago, Deborah Bnders,
3203 Horizon Drive, Lan

perience there as a highlight
of her ten years in 4-H.
Deborah 19, was selected
to attend two years ago, as a
winner in the conservation
project. She recalls that her
selection as a state winner'
Archery is very dear to Deb Enders, who placed
second in the state in individual 4-H competition

was a surprise because it
was the first time she had
entered the awards pro

Chicago, staying at the Con

people from all over the
state and the nation was
something she’ll always
remember. “You can’t

states.

Deb Enders holds the bowl she received as an
outstanding teen leader in the county in 1976. This
teenager now helps with the archery and wildlife
projects for the Mountville Community 4-H Club.
she was doing within her
club, the Mountville Com
munity 4-H Club, but even
without that recognition she
would have been active as a
teen leader.
Being involved with 4-H
has been a part of most of
Deb’s life as a teenager, and
she seems to thrive on help
ing others with their pro
jects. “I really enjoy work
ing with kids. I like watching
them compete. We have
competition, but it is relax
ed. They really try to do bet
ter and work at improving. ”
Working with children is a
delight for Deborah, and as
she talks about individual
progress in the club she
lights up. “I like to build

relationships and to watch
the kids as they grow and
develop personality” she
states. Because of her in
terest she is working
towards dual certification
