Pennsylvania Secretary of Agriculture Penrose Hallowell was on hand for with this premier Simmental breeding cattle show. Feeder calves and pigs were shown and sold. Other events included the Appaloosa horse show along with two breeding sheep shows, and the Charolais cattle show. Also on hand was the Etzler sheep driving team and the ever-popular bar nyard babies area. This year’s livestock entries showed .a marked increase except in the swine division where the pseudorabies moratorium limited exhibitors to feeder pigs and market hogs only. According to Charles Itle, show director, the number of cattle entered for this year’s show totaled 1003, up 150 from last year. Horse MARTIN’S AG SERVICE c/o John Z. Sheep numbers are also up, dosing J out at 1225 head. Activities v under the spacious .Farm Show Complex roof c continue to bustle today with more cattle- shows, sheep and horse competition and the National 4-H Horse Bowl and Judging Contest. See the show scheduled on page Al 6. The Agricultural Craft Show will be making its debut on Sunday, featuring all sorts of crafts that make use of agriculturally-related products. Kit Carson will be there with his hand-painted,. Ukranian eggs, along with ‘ other craftsmen who use everything from com cobs to wool to create their masterpieces. Crowning Sunday’s ac tivities will be the selection ef the Pennsylvania Lamb and Wool Queen. 11118 will be followed by the ever popular Ladies Lead' Class and the Junior sheep shearing contest.
