“I am deeply disappointed
that Governor Reagan has
flatly turned us down on an
opportunity to tell farmers
where he stands on
agnculture,” Zemaitis said.
“I only hope this is no in
dication of the kind of
priority family farmers in
Pennsylvania and elsewhere
would receive in a -Reagan
Administration.”
Earlier today National
Farmers Union President
George W. Stone echoed
similar dismay. Stone said
farmers all over the country
are wondering where
Reagan stands on
agriculture since his
statements in Wichita,

active consideration, and
that a decision would be
made soon.
“All we know for certain,”

farmers a flat-out ‘no’.”
