Cows were 1.00-1.50 higher and bulls firm. Four day receipts this week 10,300; Last week 10,000; year ago 11,100. The fed cattle trade continued to operate in a bearish atmosphere in reflection of a dull carcass trade the forepart of week, and a general lack of op timism. Prices on Slaughter Steers and Heifers were forced downward early despite ipodest marketings and only a portion of the downturn was regained at midweek in a ratter forced trade on meager supplies, ost baying interests were still selective, and were usually competitive only for minimum numbers. The overall finish of the steer and heifer supply was ratter attractive with a fair per centage Choice, although steers weighing 1200 lbs. and heavier were still scarce. Slaughter Steers made up appoximately 37 pet and Heifers 28 pet. Cows com prised 9 pet and feeders 24 pet.
