slaughter steers and heifers
slowed by a lower dressed
trade and reduced numbers
going into the middle of the
week. Slaughter steers
mostly 1.00, instances 1.50
lowfcr and heifers fully .50 to
1.00 lower. Cows very
uneven, through Wednesday
fully 1.50-2.00 lower. Bulls
steady to 1.00 lower. The
beginning of fall field work
this week along with a lower
early week meat trade for a
forced trading situation on
Wednesday’s small num
bers. About 18% of the
Monday run cows much
larger than usual 5-10%.
Receipts this week were
about 3200 as compared to
3079 a week ago and 3619 a
year ago.
