Canadian entries wm iri Thursday Holstein
HARRISBURG -
Canadian entries made
themselves known early in
capturing two top awards in
the first phase of judging in
the Eastern National
Holstein Show on Thursday
in the Farm Show Complex.
Cattle out of Ontario took
both the reserve junior bull
championship and the junior
champion female honors.
Judging on Thursday
proceeded through the dry
cow classes and continued
Friday through the milking
and group classes before the
naming of grand champion
and reserve grand champion
females.
The reserve junior
champion bull was exhibited
by Rowntree Farms Ltd., of
Ontario. The junior cham
pion female, a junior
yearling, was shown by
Cleghom, Lindsay, Walker
and Sons, also of Ontario.
The junior chapion bull
was off the Dary-Ann
Holstein Farm, of Darien,
Wise.
The senior champion bull
and grand champion was an
aged bulT from Sky-Vu
Farms, Hastings, Minn. The
reserve senior champion

brook, Va., emerged as the
top winner in Jersey com
petition at the All-Amencan
Dairy Show in" the Farm
Show Complex on Thursday.
Among Waverly’s honors:
Senior champion and
grand champion female, a
four-year-old. Coronation
Blossom.
Reserve junior champion
female, a semor yearling,
Hetherington Stardoms
Babette.
Waverly was also named
premier breeder and
premier exhibitor.
Fisher Jersey Farm, of
Delaware, Ohio, had two
major winners - the reserve
champion junior bull and
junior female champion.
Kalmar Farm, of
Harrington, Del., had the
junior champion bull' and
Spring Valley Farm, of
Westminster, Md., showed
the reserve senior champion
female and the reserve
grand champion female.
The premier sire was
Golden Faithful, owned by
Sire Power.
