Cooperative Federation, had
said the strike could have
resulted in over seven
million pounds of milk being
dumped daily. Forsythe
spoke on behalf of the
mdkshed’s 10 major milk
manufacturing plants.
Three major points were
hashed out: workers’ wages,
pension benefits, and health
and welfare contributions.
The offer made to the
union by plant operators
allows for an increase in the
employee labor rate of 65
cents and hour this year
followed by an additional SO
cents next year and a third
increase of 60 cents in 1982.
That brings the total wage
package to $1.85 an hour
over three years.
The dairies agreed to
increase the current Health
and Welfare contributions
from the present rate of
$2O 2* per employee per

preparing state and federal
tax returns will be held at
the Lancaster Farm and
Home Center on Nov. 11-13.
The three-day sessions will
begin at 9 a.m. and end at 4
p.m. The course will be
limited to 50 participants in
order of registrations
received. A $7O fee will be
charged and includes the
cost of noon lunches and all
workshop materials for the
1960 tax season.
The workshop, hosted by
the Cooperative Extension
Service, will provide basic
instruction on tax
management and help on
preparing farm,' small
business and personal tax
returns. A certificate will be
presented to those com
pleting the course.
