Boots and Saddles Club ' LANCASTER - The September meeting of the Lancaster County Boots and Saddles 4-H Horse and Pony Club was held at the home of Bud Spahn. Three junior members gave demon stration speeches; Bud Spahn on “What to Look for When Buying a Horse”; and Nadine Brown and Heather Howery on “Care of The Saddle.” Don Fisher, a local blacksmith, was guest speaker. Club members who competed at the District Horsp Show were recognized. Three members qualified for the state competition by their placement at the district show: Karen Eberly, first place irf Pole Bending; Kns Bach, first place in Junior Western Equitation; and Jason Watts, second place in Pony Pleasure. Future activities include the club’s annual trail nde on October 25 and 26 at Valley Lea. Also, a Family Fun Show will be held on October 19 at the Fellen baum Farm. Most of the classes planned are fun and games but a few equitation classes are scheduled. The next meeting will be a costumed Halloween Party . on October 31 at the home of club member Sharon Snyder.
