If you do, the Maryland 320 King St Myerstown, PA 17067 Phone 717-666*7544 die Bank Member P D I C Christmas Tree Growers Association and Marketing Division of the State Department of Agriculture have teamed up again to produce a directory of tree growers that sell trees wholesale to dealers and groups wishing this seasonal item. Some 14 growers are listed by county with a complete description of the species, sizes and quantity of trees they have available for this season’s cutting. Locally-grown trees are far fresher and tend to be of higher quality than trees cut earlier in locations hundreds of miles away on huge tracts where little personal at tention can be given to them as they are grown. As a result, according to MDA Marketing Specialist, Rick Baker, who has com piled the directory, the Maryland-region trees command a higher price at retail because of their freshness and quality. He also says that growers with trees to sell wholesale usually sell them quickly, so persons and groups in terested in them should act promptly to assure a supply. Anyone interested in the wholesale purchase of trees may obtain a copy of the directory by writing to “Wholesale Trees’’, Maryland Department of Agriculture, Parole Plaze Office Bldg., Annapolis, Maryland 21401.
