CHECK WATER HEATER
FOR HEAT LOSS
It is almost certain you
can save money if you add
more insulation to your hot
water tank. If the tank water
is not well insulated, energy
is being wasted and you’re
paying for it.
Test for heat loss by
placing your hand on the side
of the tank. If the tank is
warm, beat that should
remain inside is being lost.
By wrapping insulation
around the water heater you
can start saving energy
dollars immediately. Do not
cover the vents at the top of
the beater.
Kits are available to use in
adding insulation at budding
supply outlets, hardware
stores or- in mail order
catalogs. Tape is supplied
with most Idts although
bands of wire will
adequately secure the in
sulation.
Pipes which carry hot
water should also be in
sulated. A great deal of heat
can be lost along the way,
