Two volunteer firemen
from the Lafayette Fire
Company spoke to the group
about home fire alarms and
slides were presented on the
proper use of fire ex
tinguishers.
Mary Ann King presented
Creative Expressions, and
each member was given a
needle work sample to
create.

Lancaster Society 32 held
their September meeting at
the Frank S. Miller Funeral

Three short films were
shown after which everyone
toured the facilities.
Following the program, the
group met at the home of
Joyce Risser, R 1 Barn
bridge.
The next meeting will be
held Monday, October 13,
7:30 p.m. at the Chiques
Church of the Brethren
pavilion. There will be a
workshop on making corn
husk dolls.

Lebanon Group 5 met at
the home of Marion Clay, R 6
Lebanon, for an old
fashioned spelling bee
conducted by Hilda Blatt.
Six of the group’s mem
bers will be leaving Gruop 5
to become active members
of Group 20.

Society 12
York Group 12 met at
Salem United Methodist
Church, Martinsville,
recently. Members of Group
25, of East Prospect, were
guests. A covered dish
dinner was served.
Hannah Heffner played
the piano and sang several
selections and Rev. Susan
Jensen, pastor of Chan
ceford Lutheran Church,
entertained with guitar
music and a sing-a-long.
The group decided to
contribute $lO to the Cystic
Fibrosis Fund.
Arrangements are being
made to publish another
Farm Women Cookbook with
recipes to be submitted by
September 30 and to sponsor
a rummage sale Wednesday,
Octobers.
Named as a nominating
committee were: Helena
Stover, Romaine Trout, and
Esta Douglas.
The next meeting will be
held at the home of Mrs.
Chester Craley, Tuesday,
September 23, with Romaine
Shelley and Romaine Trout
as leaders.
