Lancaster Farming, Saturday, September 20,1980—A25
judges’ palates to become
the winner and walk off with
the $lOO first prize. Bur
chfield combined cucum
bers, cream cheese and
Italian dressing mix to make
a delicious spread which
would be welcome at a
family outing as well as a
dinner party for friends.
Second prize winner was
Ruth Runnock Roberts of
Bensalem, Bucks County,
who recieved $5O. By using a
variety of Pennsylvania
grown vegetables, Roberts
created Pride O’ The
Commonwealth, Vegetable
Medley Au Gratin. A special
sauce brings out the best in
each vegetable. Cooking and
preparation time is less than
30 minutes, while serving
eight to ten people as a one
dish meal.
Mrs. Geary W. Himt
sberger of Etters, York
County, won third prize with
her creation, Super Beef and
Squash Casserole. Using
