Feidt shows grand Holstein , Brown Swiss
GRATZ - The 4-H and
FFA competition at
Tuesday’s Youth Dairy Show
found many Upper Dauphin
County members returning
home after a hard day’s
cleaning and showing with
the grand champion trophy
to reward their efforts.
In the Holstein show,
David Feidt, Millersburg,
proudly exhibited his 5-year
old entry to the senior
championship and on to the
grand champion honors.
Grand champions in the
Colored Breed shows in
cluded: Sherry Keiffer with
her Junior Yearling Ayr
shire, tagged Junior
Champion by Judge Paul
Miller of Linglestown.
West Malta Farm took
home the purple rosette for
their 5-year-old Guernsey,
also the Senior Champion.
Marilyn Deaven travelled
from Fredericksburg,
Lebanon County, to capture
the grand champion’s trophy
with her 3-year-old and
Senior Champion entry.
David Feidt was once
again the top money winner
with his Brown Swiss 5-year
old cow. Rainy. Feidt adds
the Grata grand cham
pionship to his Brown Swiss’
admirable winning record.
She was the grand champion
in the Brown Swiss show
recently in the District Dairy
competition.
In showmanship com
petition, David Feidt tied
iye .eigai . was, - grand champion showman at Wednesday's
Beef Show showing her grand champion steer “King Tut”.
Twelve-year-old Becky Webster took home the championships for both Junior
showmanship and fitting.

Halifax, led her heavyweight

steer into the winner’s circle
after Wednesday morning’s
4-H Beef Show at the Gratz
Fair.
Despite the intermittent
drizzle and threatening skys,
Kaye kept her cool while
with Marilyn Deaven for top
Senior showman while Steve
Shetterly, Millersburg,
captured the Junior
championship honors.
Marlin Deaven took home
the Senior championship for
best fitter. And Kim Boyer
was selected as the best
