Protect against other diseases I have been concentrating all my comments on Brucellosis thus far. But, many of the same precautions will also help protect your herd from many of the other com municable diseases that can easily infect cattle. Minimizing the movement of cattle in and out of the herd - less showing, buying and selling - will also reduce the risk of spreading diseases. Risk is also reduced by using artificial insemination in preference to using bulls that have been used for natural service in a number of different herds.
