Lampeter fair
opens Tuesday
LAMPETER - West
Lampeter’s 56th Annual Fair
will open this week at the
Lampeter Community
Center.
The fair will open Tuesday
for commercial and in
dividual exhibit registration.
Exhibits' will also be
received Wednesday from
7; 30 a.m.-11a.m.
Fair activities will run
from 1 p.m. Wednesday
beginning with a swine and
sheep show and going
through Friday, September
26, closing at 10 pjn. with

removal of exhibits. The
only activity scheduled for
Saturday, September 27 is
die public auction of produce
and baked good exhibits at 8
p.m.
Along with (he food,
handicraft and cattle
judging competitions, there
will be evening' en
tertainment. On Wednesday
evening a pet show will be
held at 6 p.m.; the Lam
peter-Strasburg Elementary
School band will entertain at
8 p.m.; a sheep dog
demonstration will be held at
8:30 p.m.; and the Martin
Meylin Middle School Band
will play at 9 p.m.
Thursday evening
beginning at 6:30 pan., there
will be a baby parade
followed at 7:30 p.m. by the
Lampeter Strasburg
Madrigal Singers, at 8 p.m.
by the L-S stage band and at
8:30 p.m. with the West
Lampeter Fair 'Queen
contest.
Friday evenings activities'
will be an all western horse
show beginning at 6 p.m.
with a calf roping contest
scheduled at 6:30 p,m. At
7:30 p.m. the FFA Fat hog
and beef consignment sale
will be held.
