Then, slowly, ever so
slowly, the silo was jacked
into an upright position. Only
5 or 6 strokes of the jacks
were made at a time. After
each series, wood wedges
were driven under the silo to
hold it in place and the
jacking then continued.
All in all, the leaning side
was raised more than six
mches. Any cracked staves
were repaired and then a
base foundation collar was
poured to fill-in below the
