meets September 21
DOVER, Del. - The 15th
annual State of Delaware 4-
H Horse Show will be held
Sunday, September 21, at the
Dr W. L. Mroz Red Gate
Farm just west of Dover.
The event starts at 9 a.m.
(rain or shine). There will be
a total of approximately 32
classes m English, Western
and miscellaneous divisions.
The show is sponsored by
the Delaware Cooperative
Extension Service and the
Delaware 4-H Horse Ad
visory Committee. Com
petition is limited to
members of the Delaware 4-
H Horse and Pony Project.

Dairy Show to be held at
Kutztown Fair Ground,
August 30.
A typical 4-H dairy project
is carried by the 4-H
member for at least three
years, one year as a calf, one
year as a yearling heifer and
then as a two year old
producing milk. Some 4-H
members elect to keep their
better projects through more
than one lactation of milk, a
new lactation being started
yearly. 4-H Daipr club work
in the county is conducted
with the help of volunteer
adult leaders and is
supervised by county agent,
Joseph H. Way.

Again this year, a special
attraction of the statewide
event will be the presen
tation of two quarter horse
weanlings by Bob Evans of
Columbus, Ohio.
The horses will go to two
deserving 4-H youth who will
tram and school them for
future performance in the
show ring. Four Evans
horses previously given to
Delaware 4-H’ers will be
among those competing m
this year’s show.
