MILKING SHORTHORN Pmesedge Melody, a nine year old aged cow walked away with Grand Champion Honors at the Milking Shorthorn Show, held here at the Kutztown Fair last Wednesday. Owned by Nedra Yoder, Shoemakersville, this spectacular cow earned a long impressive record of accomplishments. Producing a record of 13,500 pounds milk, this cow has taken Champion honors in almost -every show en tered. In 1978 she was named first placed aged cow at the Tom Galloway, Bechtelsville with Berks County Dairy Princess, Karen Sattazahn and Champion Brown Swiss, Blonde Bas Miliy. National Milking Shorthorn Show, Harrisburg and will be entered there again this year. She and a seven year old daughter, Pinesedge Melody 11, were undefeated dam and daughter in 1977 and 1978 as well. A Senior Yearling granddaughter, Pmesedge Bth Note, also owned by Nedra was named Junior Champion of this Show. Nedra is a registered nurse at the Reading Hospital and Medical Center but also helps on the home farm, Pinesedge Farm, during off hours. She has six cows and two bulls of her own, all out of her Grand Champion.
