South Central FFA dairy show held
SHIPPENSBURG - The
1980 South Central FFA
dairy show was held last
week at the Shippensburg
Fairgrounds, Shippensburg.
Animals were exhibited by
members of nme FFA
chapters m Adams, Cum
berland, Franklin and York
Counties. Ginger Secnst,
field representative for the
Pennsylvania Guernsey
Breeders Association, was
the type judge for the show.
The fitting and showing
Awards were judged by
Galen Smith, Smithdale
Farms, Shippensburg.
The Junior Champion
Holstein, Reich-Dale
Monitor Bootie, a Paclamar
Bootmaker daughter, was
shown by Jesse Reichard of
the Blue Ridge FFA
Chapter. The Reserve Junior
Champion Holstein,
Resslerdale New Year Pam,
a Rippenhen Boot-Nick
daughter, was exhibited by
Frank Ressler of the Ship
pensburg FFA Chapter.
The Senior and Grand
Penn State ag museum named
UNIVERSITY PARK -
The Pennsylvania State
University agricultural
implement museum at the
Rock Springs Agricultural
Research Center has been
named the Jerome K. Paste
Museum m honor of the
person most instrumental in
getting it established.
The Board of Trustees
approved the naming of the
museum for Paste who
retired this past July 1 as a
professor emeritus of
agricultural economics and
associate dean emeritus for

“It was Dr. Paste’s special
mterst in the preservation of
Penn State’s histone land
marks and the collection of
antique farm implements
that made the museum a
reality,” President Oswald
said.
“His interest led to a
special project of the
Agncultural Alumni Society
which created the museum
to display collected and
restored items from rural
Pennsylvania. Paste spent
many weekends, vacation
