A2B—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, August 16,1980 Hostetter family takes Eastern Holstein honors BY LAUREL SCHAEFFER Staff Correspondent KUTZTOWN Continuing their impressive sweep of prestigious awards in this year’s show circuit, Donald M. Hostetter and family of Parkesburg, captured the coveted titles of Premier Breeder and Premier Exhibitor at the Eastern Pennsylvania Championship Holstein Show. The show was held at the Kutztown Fairgrounds, Monday and judged by Paul King, Delta. Maplebound Farms, owned and operated by the Hostetter family, previously took these same honors home in 1978 and captured both titles at the stale show m Harrisburg in 1979 Other awards won Monday night by the Hostetter’s included Reserve Grand Champion and Reserve Senior Champion, won by their 4 yr old cow, Mapiebound Elevation Knstol First places were m Aged Cow, Best Three females, produce of dam, and dam and daughter classes. Red ribbons were awarded to the Hostetters in junior yearling heifers, three and four year old dry cows, dry cows five years ana over, three year old cows, four year old cows, and best udder classes. These distinguished cows come from Hostetters’ two dairy herds, both having impressive records.
