competing in Saturday’s
PITMAN - The annual
Schuylkill County 4-H Dairy
Show was held Saturday at
the Carl. A. Snyder farm
here. Twenty-three 4-H’ers
exhibited 36 dairy animals
These 4-H’ers represented
all 3 county 4-H dairy clubs -
Pitman, South Schuylkill
and West Penn
Donald A Seipt, a partner
m Keystone Farms, Nor
thampton County, and a
former member of the
Cornell dairy judging team
was the official judge for the
show
Show placmgs tor the
Jersey breed were Junior
calf class -1. Karin Heffner,
R 2 Pine Grove; 2. Bruce
Rhem, Pine Grove. Junior
yearling class - 1 Bruce
Rhem; 2. Kristin Heffner,
Pine Grove
Spring yearling class - 1
Bruce Rhem Bruce had the
Jersey Junior Champion and
Karin Heffner had the Junior
Reserve Champion.
Jersey 3 and 4 year old
class -1 Kent Heffner, Pine
Grove; 2 Bruce Rhein Kent
also had the Spring
Champion and Bruce the
Reserve Senior Champion.
Kent’s entry Jersey Acres
went on to« become the
Jersey Grand Champion and
Bruce’s Golden Royal
Snowflake was named
Reserve Grand Champion
In the Guernsey breed
competition, Carl Miller of
R 3, Tamaqua, had first
place in the Junior Yearling
Class and William Rom
berger, Pitman, had first
place in the Senior Yearling
Class. Romberger’s entry
was named Junior Cham
pion of the Guernseys and
Miller’s Reserve Junior
Champion Ryan Kahler,
Pitman, placed first in the 3
and 4 Year Old Class and
William Romberger placed
2nd These entries were also
awarded Senior Champion
and Reserve Senior
Champion respectively and
also went on to win Guernsey
Grand Champion and
Reserve Grand Champion
The Brown Swiss breed
competition saw Rick
Daubert, Pine Grove, place
first in the Junior Calf Class

Class went to Allen Daubert,
Pine Grove, with Randy
Miller, Tamaqua, placmg
2nd The Junior Yearling
Class was won by Rick
Daubert with Ann Daubert,
Pine Grove, placing 2nd
Allen Daubert won the first
place award for the Senior

the 2 Year Old Class Ann
