    Catherine Kohl paints her life with activity

Kohl enjoys farms. She likes
to paint them and to live on
them. But most of all she
likes to restore them
For the last eleven years
she has concentrated her
efforts on their 50 acre

Catherine lives with her
husband, Andrew and son,
Andy, in a farmhouse built in
1824. The Kohls have three
married daughters.

for the purchase of a country
property was the foresight
that “land was going to get

Catherine said her
husband has learned to
expect anything when he
comes home from work
When her remodeling urge
hits, he comes home to
scenarios like the one a few
years back when she started
pulling down the ceiling in
their spacious kitchen and
family area. Now she says
she expected to have the job
done and cleaned up before
supper, but said what she
didn’t realize was that two
ceilings were covering the
beams she hoped to expose
Hubby entered on that
evening to quite a mess, she
says, and immediately
mobilized the kids to aid in
the clean up.
Two large stone-faced
fireplaces in the home attest
to the fact that this petite
lady is handy with a trowel.
Catherine said that the first
two homes they built she
helped with. The third home
she finished and when she
needed something done in
this farm home, she got out
her tools and did it
