Weaver, Donmoyer show grand champ Holsteins

LEBANON - Over 160
young FFA and 4-H dairy
enthusiasts competed in this
year’s Lebanon Area Fair
dairy shows.
The grand champion in the
Holstein division of the 4-H
Show was exhibited by Dale
E. Weaver, the son of John
Weaver, Myerstown. His
entry, a 2-year-old which he
affectionately calls “Apple”,
was bred by Hubert S.
Miller, Myerstown. Her sire
is Hillhaven Standout Job
out of a dam named Lime
Rock Astronaut Sue Apple.
Apple placed first m her
Sue Bomberger, Annville, showed the 4-H Grand Champion Jersey, ,the
champion Aged Cow. In the Ayrshire show, Diane Maulfair (left) exhibited the 4-
H Grand Champion, a 7 vear old named Milkdud.

Champion and later Grand
Champion.
This was Weaver’s first
grand championship in his 6-
year career of showing dairy
cattle. But Weaver pointed
out, winning is not new to his
cow’s family line her
mother was last year’s
champion at the South
Eastern District Dairy
Show.
In the FFA Holstein Show,
Barry Donmoyer showed his
3-year-old cow, “Linda” to a
first place in her class. She
moved up to the Senior
Champion title, and later
stepped into the Grand
Champion slot.
Donmoyer, from R 2 Ann
ville, is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred Donmoyer. His
grand champ is one of 10
registered Holsteins Don
moyer is milking on bis
parents farm. She is a
daughter of Junell Ivanhoe
Chief Charlie out of Broslm
Peg Ivanhoe Ken.

Lebanon Fair Dairy Show. She was shown by Barry Donmoyer, R 2 Annville.
Grand champion 4-H Holstein was shown by Dale Weaver, Myerstown, Apple
was the champion of her class of 2 year olds.
