55th Annual Renewal Sale

sylvania Guernsey Sale

the Annual 1981 Meeting of
the Pennsylvania Guernsey
Breeders’ Association will
be held on March 20 and 21.

from a one day event to a two

Field Area Outstanding
Young Guernsey Farmer
Award, which was given to
Rodney at the National
Guernsey Convention
recently
The award is presented to
those outstanding farmers
between the ages of 21 and
35
Philip Wagner, county
dairy agent gave a report on
the poor (jm situation in
Franklin County due to the
dry weather being ex
perienced throughout the
county
Wagner stated that he has
been working on feeding
programs with those far
mers that have been hit the
hardest by the heat.
Harold Hoffeditz, host of
the event, commented on his
48 milking cow operation and
noted the changes in his
State egg output climbs

Pennsylvania totaled 338
million eggs, eight percent
above the 312 million eggs
produced in June 1979, ac
cording io the Pennsylvania
Crop Reportmg Service.
The June average of 15.9
million Pennsylvania layers
was eight percent higher

class and an aged cow class.
The winner of the adult
division was Darlene Stuff of
Mercersburg and the winner
of the junior division was

Secrist acted as the official
judge.
Officers of the Franklin
County Guernsey Breeders’

secretary/treasurer.
