    Dairy insecticides recalled due to exploding cans
MEMPHIS, Tenn. - Cer
tain pyrethrm-containing in
secticides, packaged in
aerosol containers and
marketed in at least 31
states for insect control in
dairy barns, are the subject
of an extensive recall pro
gram.
The recall was initiated
by Speer Product Inc., a
division of Shirlo, Inc,
Memphis, Tenn., because of
a potential container rup
ture problem.
The Dow Chemical Com
pany, a supplier of one of
the aerosol components, is
conducting the recall pro
gram for Speer. Due to the
wide distribution, Dow has
assembled and will direct
field teams to retrieve the
cans, in accordance
