Wins 4-H dairy award
J. William Burkholder, President of the Cum
berland Valley Local of Eastern Milk Producers,
presents a trophy to Tim Smith for his first year
achievement in the Cumberland County 4-H Dairy
Program. Each year Eastern Milk Producers
recognizes the outstanding first year 4-H Dairy
Club member based on club and project work. Tim
is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Galen Smith, R 5
Shippensburg.

Convention scheduled
GRANTHAM - The 26th
Annual PA Natural Living
Convention will be held
Friday, August 8 through
Sunday, August 10 at
Messiah College here.
An alternate energy
exhibit will include locally
available solar, wind, wood
and alcohol fuel equipment,
and an alcohol still.
An experimentally alcohol
fueled car developed by Bud
Parsons, New Jersey, will be
shown.
On Friday at 7 p.m.
Shirley Fink will present an
aerobic bouncing demon
stration.
On Saturday, exhibits open
at 8 a.m. and Jeff Cox,
managing editor of Organic
Gardening Magazine will
present a report from
Rodale
At 10:15 a.m. Betty Kamen
a staff member from Hofstra
University will be the
speaker on media and the
nutrition message
A luncheon of all natural
foods will be followed by a
business meeting of Penn
sylvania NFA and an
election of officers.
At 2:45 p.m. on Saturday,
Floyd Horst will talk on Ins
experiences with farm
alcohol and fuel production.
John Heinerman will
speak at 3 45 p.m. on herbal
medicine in China. Pakistan
and the Soviet Union.
After an all natural dinner,
Dr James Rahn will speak
on making the weather work
for you at 7 p.m. and at 8
p.m. Gary Null wdl speak on
the politics of cancer.
Sunday’s topics after an
all natural breakfast will
include A 1 Krass at 9 a.m on
resisting oppression.
Workshops will begin at 10
a.m. followed by a lunch
buffet.
At 2 p.m. on Sunday, John
Hemerman, will give a talk
on treating radiation
damage with herbs.
At 3 p.m., Eshelman
Studio will present a
program, America the
Beautiful.
