The poultry industry
provides employment for
20,000 persons in the county.
To get a better handle on
the industry, Commissioners
James Huber and Robert
Boyer took a guided tour of
the Hershey’s 46,000 bird
confinement egg production
facility.
The 52 by 305 foot house
was built in 1977 and includes
the most modem devices in
egg production.
One outstanding feature is
'Ceiling nbs which run across
the house, from side vent to
side vent, rather than
lengthwise as is normal.
