Swine field
day to
run today
CLARKSVILLE, Md. -
The Maryland Agricultural
Experiment Station will
sponsor a statewide swine
field day today at the
University of Maryland
research facility near
Clarksville, Howard county.
Pork producers and other
interested persons are in
vited to attend. The all-day
educational session will run
from 9:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m.
Noon lunch will be available
at moderate cost.
Field day coordinator is
Thomas G. Hartsock, ex
tension swine specialist and
associate professor of
animal science at the
University of Maryland m
College Park.
Hartsock reported that
field day visitors will have
the opportunity to select four
30-mmute workshops from a
total of seven listings.
Much of Saturday’s
program will be held in the
shade of a big tent used
Thursday for the farm
family field day across the
road at the University of
Maryland agronomy-dairy
forage research farai.
The field day site is
located three miles nor
theast of Clarksville in
central Howard county.
