cooking recipes. Sounds like a nice activity for a hot af
ternoon under a shade tree.
Jennifer Bulson’s recipe for Swedish Cream was taught
to her by her mother. She said her grandmother gave her
a cookbook for Christmas.

% cup shortening
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1% cups flour
IVz teaspoons baking powder
IV2 teaspoons soda
% cup cocoa
Vh cups hot water
1 % teaspoons vanilla
Mix all ingredients at once. Bake at 350° F. until top
springs back when touched lightly.

DRIED BEEF CASSEROLE
1 cup uncooked macaroni
1 cup milk
1 can cream of mushroom soup
V* pound Cheddar cheese
1-2 ounces chipped tlried beef
Vz small omon
% cup celery
2 hard boiled eggs
Mu everything together and refrigerate over night
Bake at 350° F. for 1 hour. Ground beef may be substituted
for dried beef.
