Thomas C Galbreath presided at the business session. Mrs. Clifford Holloway 111, chairman of the youth committee, reported 30 attended the volleyball party at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J. Everett Kreider July 5 She announced a swim ming party to be held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Wood July 25, 7 p.m. Hot dogs will be furnished Members should contact her in regard to what foods they should bring. She also announced the third annual State Grange horseshoe tournament to be held August 9 at the Centre County Grange Fairgrounds. The Grange voted to sponsor a young couple to attend the young mamed's weekend at Edgewater Acres, Huntingdon Co , Sept. 19 to 21. Mrs. Howard Miller Jr 4-H attends dairy bowl OBELISK The Western Montgomery-Berks 4-H Club attended the South-East Regional Dairy Bowl contest at the Berks County Ag Center Teams participated in the Dairy Bowl from Cum berland-Northampton Cou nty, Berks County, Chester County, and Montgomery County Coming in first place was Montgomery County, Chester County was the runner-up 4-H members representmg Montgomery County were Martha Gehrmger, captain of the team, Jean Gehrmger; Margaret Giangiacomo, Mary Alice Rhoads, Sean Callaghan, and Jack Seasholtz Reported by Mary Alice Rhoads 4 announced that the Oakryn Senior Citizens would hold a covered dish luncheon' at noon, July 16 at the Grange Hall. Clifford W Holloway Jr , chairman of the tour com mittee, announced that the bus would leave Quanyville July 18, 6 a.m. and return July 20, 9 p.m. He also an nounced the time schedule for each stop in Connecticut and Massachusetts. The Lecturer, Mrs. Howard Miller Jr. presented Dons J Brown, who told about her experience par ticipating in the Friendship Force exchange visitation to West Berlin zo4 people, representing a cross section of U S citizens, flew to West Germany and 254 German citizens returned to the United States on the same plane. Everyone stayed in homes in the local community and went as ambassadors of peace. Mrs. Brown spoke of the hospitality she enjoyed in the home she visited and told how her hostess showed her so many places of interest in West Berlin. After eight days the group from Germany flew back to Germany with the same plant bringing back our group This program was well planned and has been acclaimed as a huge suc cess Mrs Miller read a poem “Thanks” to conclude the program. Fulton Grange will hold their annual picnic Monday, July 28,7 p.m. at the Grange hall Everyone should bring a meat dish, another dish and their own place setting. Rolls, butter and beverage will be provided. This will be a fun night for the whole family. Volleyball, quoits and horseshoes will be en joyed before dark, followed by games m the hall.
