president of the Huntingdon
County Holstein Club,
reported on the billboard
project progress in con
junction with the County
Dairy Promotion Com
mittee.
One sign was on display
promoting Huntingdon
County Holstems on one side
and milk promotion on the
other side. Six of these will
be distributed throughout
the county on farm property
along major roads. The
artist, Sue Walls, was
recognized.

recognizing the Huntingdon
Kiwams group present for
their support.

The overwhelming con
sensus of parents is that
their children watch too
much television The pro
blem is how to fill the gap
when the TV is turned otf.

concern on this issue,
Dorncott,
great year of promotion with
the new princess.
She also told those present
to always remember to use
their own product and
reminded dairymen that
“No one can promote milk to
children like a Dairy
Princess ”
Pam McMath, the 1979
Huntingdon County Dairy
Princess, gave her farewell
speech, noting the many
novel experiences that
awaited the winner of the
pageant She thanked those
present “for the chance I
have gotten to see all the new
faces and meet all the new
friends that I have ”
When the judges com
pleted their deliberations
and returned to the mam
room, they and the Master of
Ceremonies were presented
with pitchers of flowers from
the Dairy Promotion
Committee by Miss McMath.
She also presented Lisa
Harnish with a cheese tray
for her services as alternate

year of service as 1979
Huntingdon County Dairy
Princess. Then the results
were announced
For the Huntingdon
County Dairy Promotion
Committee, Mr Foster
presented the 1980 Dairy
Princess with $lOO cash
award, to the first alternate
$5O, and $25 to the second
alternate
The committee also
presented each contestant
with an I D bracelet, and
the 1980 Huntingdon County
Dairy Princess Trophy to
Miss Lisa Harmsh.
Miss Harmsh will be at
tending a training seminar
for the county winner and
alternates for Pennsylvania
July 13 to 16 at St Francis
College in Loretto, where she
will receive instruction in
speech, poise, preparing for
television, makeup, handos,
and milk facts in
preparation
for a year popularizing the
merits of milk and milk
products
