the department “didn’t feel
they were representative of

Ag fair
Farr- hrw will be sought by
the Department.
Sumner said the tailgate
market would feature
pumpkins and potatoes and
whatever other crops are
available in October.
While the biggest impact
will be felt in the southeast
region of the State, the PDA
is looking on the fair as a
State program, he said.
Sumner said state per
sonal and farm show per
sonnel if approved will
provide the management
with perhaps some tem
porary manpower hired.
“Naturally it’s going to take
a cooperative effort,” he
said.
At the present time no
admission fee is planned.
Money from exhibit fees and
possibly funds from an
undisclosed source will
offset the revenues, he said.
Sumner said with three
months almost to the day left
for putting the fair together,
the department is looking at
the time factor not as a
problem but as an op
portunity.
