Eastern National
premium lists available
TIMONIUM, Md. - Entry
blanks and premium lists
are now available for the
34th Eastern National
Livestock Show to be held at
the Maryland State Fair
Grounds here September 26-
Octoberl.
More than $50,000 in
premiums will be offered at
the show, largest livestock
event in the East.
The Eastern National is
being held several weeks
earlier this year than in the
past to enable livestock
breeders from throughout
the country to also show at
the Atlantic Rural Ex
position in Richmond,
Virginia, and the Keystone
International Exposition in
Harrisburg, Pennsylvania,
in a span of a week and one
half
The deadline for entries is
August 15. Late entries will
be accepted after that date
and until September 22 with
a penalty of double entry
fees per head
Several new judging
events have been added to
this year’s show, according
to John I Wildesen,
manager
These include Charolais,
Limousin, Chiamna and
Simmental heifer shows for
4-H Club and FFA members
and judging for three new
breeds of open sheep,
Montadale. Merino and
Rambouilett. In addition, a
“Sheep to Shawl” contest
