‘Five years ago, when we chose the diesel engines
to power our 750-acre irrigation system, fuel econ
omy was what we were looking for and we looked
at a lot of engines The Deutz diesel was by far the
best on that score Other Deutz users told us they
had cut their fuel bill by about 25 percent-we Ve
done better than that They also saio the separate
air-cooled cylinders on a Deutz are very easy to
service I couldn't tell you about that—we've never

their advanced design makes them more efficient
They run at higher head temperatures and make
better use of the fuel They are more dependable,
longer-running because of their solid quality and
superior cooling system About half the causes of
downtime in liquid-cooled engines are attributable
to breakdowns in the cooling system In air-cooled
Deutz diesels, there can be no freeze-ups or boil
overs, no broken water hoses, no water-pump
