Among these options
under consideration is the

“This appears to be one of
the most viable options

Letters To
The Editor
Dear Editor:
The Anti-nuclear people
not the radicals, the
fanatics, the headline
grabbers-but just ordinary
people like you and I have
tried all the “formalities”,
and “legalities”, the
“niceness”,
“politeness”,
“rationalities”, and it has
resulted in one big fat “zero”
for all of us!
Our elected officials,
beginning with Governor
Thornburgh right down the
line to our local officials
have “sold us out!” They in
NO WAY have represented
our best interests. The
general public was and is
most definitely against
venting krypton into the
atmosphere but all the pleas
to each respective local
government, except for a
few municipalities, and the
requests to the State Of
ficials were completely
ignored (excluding Rep.
Ertel). And-feUow citizens
because of this precedent, all
of your future pleas; in
cluding the reopening of TMI
- Umt I and/or Unit II will
also be ignored!
The Nuclear Industry
(utilities, NRC, Big
Business, local. State and
Federal Government, etc.)
is on a “lunatic fringe” and
if each and every concerned
citizen does not get all the
way out on the other end of
the “lunatic fringe” (which
is the only language they
understand), we are doomed
to the choices the Nuclear
Industry is making for our
lives and the lives of our
children. We have no
political clout and no money,
but we have one thing they
do not have-numbers! If
every single concerned
person joins forces and
demands to be counted-we
will be counted. Don’t think
that the organizations, the
man down the street or your
next-door neighbor can do it
for you-we need all of you m
force together!
This battle is like a teeter-
tofter if somebod'' is
here on this end and you
want to bring the other end
of the teeter-totter down, you
don’t get m the middle of the"
fulcrum. You have to get out
there at the other end.

Dear Editor:
We have been a subscriber
to your newspaper for a few
years and were quite im
pressed with the size
newspaper you put out.
It is so refreshing to know
there is a publication
dedicated solely to the
agricultural field. Situated
between two giant
metropolises, Philadelphia
m the east and Pittsburgh in
the west, is a vast area of
agriculture as diversified in
agricultural enterprises as
any state in the union. I think
the agricultural community
should have no boundaries
and that is what has
prompted us to write this
letter

Whenever districting is
mention we are termed
North Central, here in our
county, Dauphin is South
Central, and Schuylkill is
East. Yet we all do business
with the same business
people, we share meetings
for the same knowledge but
somehow Northumberland
County gets no recognition
for their achievements in the
ag. field.
We kind of overlooked this
. peeve when our oldest son
was named FFA State Star
Farmer and received a
limited confused
acknowledgement.
But when our second son
came m third m the FFA
State Livestock judging
contest and his name was
omitted along with first
place winner, that was a bit
much. We feel this is
discrimination and really
not being fair to the public
and informing them of all the
winners, not just a select
few.
We realize it is quite a list
and does take up some
space, but we feel this is
what makes your paper
stand out above the rest.
