Many people believe that acid ram is our next en vironmental crisis while others feel that sufficient information about the problem does not yet exist, according to the Capitol Region Planning and Development Agency. Individuals and groups concerned about his issue are invited to participate in a meeting where available information on the subject will be presented. This meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 19 at the Swatara Township Municipal Building, located at 599 Eisenhower Boulevard, near Harrisburg. James Lynch of Penn State will give a brief background of the issue, along with suspected effects on water quality, agriculture and forests. James Salvaggio of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Resources’ Bureau of Air Quality will discuss alternative solutions and costs to reduce this problem. Time will be reserved for questions and for discussion of possible solutions. This meeting is being sponsored by the Capitol Region Planning and Development Agency in its effort to provide a forum for residents to express their views on water quality issues.
