BlO—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 31,1980 Grangers honor Scott after 17 years service BY JANE BRESEE Staff Correspondent WYSOX Legislators, Orange officers, and nearly 100 Grange members from Bradford and Sullivan counties, gathered last Friday at the Wysox Fire Hall to honor John W. Scott, of Camp Hill recently retired from serving 17 years as Pennsylvania Grange Master. Completely surprised by the party planned in his honor, Scott had attended the banquet intending to speak about legislative issues. Master of Ceremonies wu Richard Van Noy, past Bradford County Pomona Master. He presently serves as secretary of the State Grange. Assemblyman Roger Madigan; Robert Somer ville, administrative assistant for Senator Hager; and Senator Frank O’Con nell, all breifly commended Scott for his grange work. A large citation from the State Senate containing a Resolution of Congrat ulations for his years of service was presented to Scott by Fred Von Wolfradt, Pomona Master. Mrs. Ruth Fish, put Pomona Secretary for 30 years, gave Scott a Retirement-Award Plaque and thanked him for his untiring efforts and for his loyalty and friendship through the years. Scott replied that the Grange had been his life for the past 17 years, and he wouldn’t trade it for a million dollars, yet he wouldn’t take 15 cents to do it over. Having been in fanning all hia life with his two loves being the Grange and agriculture, Scott is now employed in the Marketing Services Area of die Penn sylvania Department of Agriculture. He is working to increase the export sales of Penn sylvania Farm Products and is anticipating the Japanese John W.
