A new rotary combine, with
die largest capacity of any
combine on the market, and
the ability to work in many
types of crops and slopes,
has been introduced by the
AUis-Chahners Corporation.
The new N 7 rotary will join
the line of GLEANER
combines manufactured by
the Combine Group of the
company, and effectively
marries the rotary concept
with other GLEANER
combine features like
centerline design, two stage
cleaning, tangential feeding
and a concave state ejection
door.
The addition of the new
model N 7 gives Allis-
Chaimers the longest line of
combines available in the
industry, with eight different
models, three of which are
rotaries, the Models N 5 and
N6andthenewN7.
“Besides the increased
capacity of the N 7, the new
model contains all of the
features of our previously
introduced rotary units,
including the ability to ac
commodate up to a 12 row
com head; the capability of
working in 'many types of
crops such as com, wheat,
sorghum, barley, rye, oats,
sunflowers and Rax; as well
as being less sensitive to
slopes,” Roy W. Uelner, -
executive vice president of
AUis-Chalmers Corp., said.
“Yet the N 7 accomplishes all
of this within the same
physical package as our
conventional Model L
GLEANER combine.
Tradtionally, such capacity
increases have been
achieved by substantial
increases in machine size.”
The 315 bushel capacity N 7
has 6, 8 and 12 row corn
heads. Grain, floating cutter
and windrow heads are
available in 15, 20 and 24 ft.

Ferrari engineers have
created the model 95 for,
today’s specialized needs.
All 4 wheels are the same
size and thereby offer the
true 4 wheel drive with
maximum utilization of
power. The air-cooled diesel
operates at all temperatures
drive enabling sickle speeds
in excess of 600 rpm, thereby
.allowing faster ground
speeds to take advantage of
the high harvesting capacity
of the machine. Vibration
from the sickles has been
dampened by driving the
sickle bars from each end,
opposing each other.
The exclusive 12 row corn
head is the largest available
on any combine, and cuts a
full 30 ft. swath at each pass.
The com heads have in
dividually mounted row
units, and are designed to
hug the ground to get under
and pick up any down or
tangled crop. In addition, the
gathering sheets are sloped
to minimize hair pinning and
whipping of downed stalks.
The N 7 is powered by an
Allis-Chalmers 685 HI tur
bocharged and interccoled
diesel engine rated at 270 hp
at 2200 rpm. The 516 cu. in.,
six cylinder engine has a
counter balanced
crankshaft, four valves per
cylinder, opposed exhaust
and intake manifolds and
many other features that
add up to constant power
even in the most rugged
conditions.
