Society 3 The last meeting of the Berks Group 3 was held at the home of Myrtle Hartline, R 3 Boyertown. The group spread some sunshine for a few members of the group plus some people who had fires in the area. The mystery program was given by Elmira Mauger, Boyertown who presented a monologue on buying hats complete with 20-25 hats to illustrate the talk. The group’s next meeting will be a trip to Shartlesville for a smorgasbord and a visit to Roadside America. Berks Co, Society 4 Berks Society 4 met at the home of Jean Waldo, Boyertown. A thank you note was received from the Wilfred Norman family. Three members, Jean Waldo, Jeanine Franz and Dorothy Barrett will help at the Sunday, June 8 picnic at Berks Heim. A Stanley party was held at this meeting. Fem Kulp, R 3 Boyertown, will be hostess for the group on Tuesday, June 3. Berks Co. Society 12 The May meeting of Group 12 was held in the Bemville home of Rita Stump. Glenna Hix, Pauline Hartranft and Helen Schlappich will help at the Berks Heim picnic Sunday, June 8. Gloria Christman, Glenna Htx, Pauline Har tranft and Sally Steinhauer will make cakes to donate to Berks Heim for the picnic. Doyle Stump received a get well money card. The program for the evening was given by Rita Stump on cake decorating. Rita decorated a cake and answered questions asked by the women. Most of the women brought cakes and a silent auction was held at the end of the meeting with the proceeds going into the treasury. The next meeting' will be held Monday, June 2 at the Bemville R 2 home of Mary Leymeister at 8 p.m. Lancaster Co. Society 6 Lancaster Society 6 met at the Elizabethtown Church of God to entertain Society 28. Esther Frey was honored with a red rose for her 57 years of membership in the Society. And a contribution was given to the Dairy Princess Contest. The program for the event was provided by Laverne Oberholtzer and Nancy Kreider on the accordians, and Frances Deal speaking on memories of mother. Thursday, June 5, the group will be entertained by Society 15 at Black Rock Retreat. Lancaster Co, Society 7 Lancaster Society 7 held their May meeting at the home of the president, Miriam Keneagy, Paradise, with Betty Brubaker, Sylvia Martin and Nora Denhnger as hostesses. A donation of $75 was noted for the Hospice. A plant and food sale was held. The next meeting will be held Monday evening, June 16 at 7 p.m. at the home of Helen Shirk, Paradise. Lancaster Co. Society 8 Lancaster Society 8 met in the home of Pauline Miller, Mount Joy. The former Miller sisters, daughters of Martin and Pauline Miller, sang trios. Hazel Hawthorne ac companied on the piano. A second musical time was presented as Pauline Frey and mother Pauline Miller played a piano and organ duet. Martin Miller showed slides of scenic areas of fall foliage in the New England states. He included various slides of previous special meetings of the Farm (Turn to Page CIO)
