A3o—Lancaster Farming, Saturday, May 24,1980 Northampton youth, calves move into spotlight EASTON Calves were in the spotlight last week when Northampton County youngsters participated in the annual calf fitting and showing competition sponsored by the County Holstein Club. The calves were selected in the morning and given to a pair of youngsters, one experienced and the other inexperienced. After wat ching fitting and showing demonstrations, the youngsters were on their own to clip, wash and halter break their calves. It helps to get a friend, with one pulling and the other pushing '** Mk In the afternoon, Don Fowler, Fulton County extension agent, judged the group in junior and senior showing and fitting. County agri-businesses donated supplies and prizes. Up stream Farm Corp. hosted the event. Junior winners were eight year-old Kevin McEwen and nine-year-old Cara Stroh meier. Senior winners were Tammy Mmmch, 15, and Randy Ott, 13.
