Sale Reports
A sale of 88 lots of
purebred and commercial
hogs was held on April 25 at
the Lebanon Fair Grounds.
This was the fourteenth
production sale held by
Lawrence, Leon, and
Thomas Arnold. The sale
totaled $20,035, with an
average of $228 per hog.
There were 27 Yorkshire
bred gilts sold. The high
selling animal went to Mark
Warebam, Everett, for $4lO.
The rest of the 26 lots
averaged $2Bl.
There were 6 short bred
Duroc gilts sold for an
average of $lB4, and 10
commercial bred gilts at an
average of $l6l.
Ed Oswald, Slatington,
bought the high selling boar,
a Yorkshire, for $430.
The average price for the
17 Yorkshire boars sold was
$243, and $230 for the Duroc.
In the open Yorkshire
gilts, the five swine sold for
an average of $175. One
Duroc sold for $175, and 5
commercial gilts sold for an
average of $llB.
There were 50 registered
buyers from 8 states.
Harry Bachman was the
auctioneer.
A Complete Dispersal was
held May 3 by Frank B.
Allen, between Laceyville
and Meshoppen, Pa.

was held on April 28, at the
farm of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph
Moyer, R 1 Lebanon.
Twenty-eight head of
cattle were sold at various
stages of production. The
high-selling cow brought
$lBOO. There was one at
$1725, and three at $l7OO. The
remaining twenty-four head
sold for over $lOOO, in
dividually.
Also sold were DeLaval
pail units at $5O.
There were 150 people in
attendance for the sale.
