hearings on changes in
Order 2 when the North
Atlantic Milk Processors
Association petitioned tne
U.S. Department of
Agriculture to consider their
proposals.
They asked to raise the
transportation credit to 20
cents and remove the 15 cent
negotiated hauling charge
There would be no limit on
what a handler could deduct
for hauling as long as he had
the producers consent and it
didn’t exceed the actual cost.
This came pretty close to
eliminating farm point pric
ing entirely. But once more
the co-ops headed off the
threat with counter pro
posals which would limit the
negotiated charge to 25
cents. This will probably be

year at the Farm Show
parking lot in Harrisburg at
3 p.m. on Tuesday, May 6.
The Farmers Market will
continue its operation
through October.

west. A counter proposal by
Order 4 Co-ops would expand
the Order 4 marketing area
