the Co-op faces two potential
consequences: it could have
its Pennsylvania license
completely revoked, or it
could have the license
suspended for a given
number of days.
In similar cases in the
past, suspension has been
the typical verdict.
The state’s Milk
Marketing Law allows any
dealer to buy back its
suspension at the rate of $5O
a day. The funds from the
fine go to the Milk Marketing
Board fund.
If the Co-op should be
found guilty and should elect
to buy back its suspension,
the action should not have
any effect on Dairylea
members other than the
revenue loss. Dairylea would
not be forced to give up its
contract with A&P.
In a separate case
evolving from the Dairylea-
A&P Scranton deal,
arguments were heard
Monday in Commonwealth
Court on charges leveled
against Dairylea by Lehigh
Valley Farms February 13,
1980 that Dairylea was in
volved in illegal tolling.

Poultry industry, economy
to be featured June 26
LANCASTER
“State of the Economy” and
“State of the Poultry In
dustry” will headline the
1980 Pennsylvania Poultry
Conference on Thursday,
June 26, 1980, at the Host
Corral in Lancaster.
The all-day meeting also
features separate broiler,
egg, and turkey conferences
with prominent speakers
from throughout the United
States and Canada.
Speaking to the “State of
the Economy” will be
distinguished economic
columnist, Robert Metz.
Metz is the author of the
daily column, the “Market
Place” for the New York
violation of PMMB’s
Regulation 141.4 which
prohibits such action.
Dairylea has 'denied the
charges and said it is in full
compliance with PMMB
regulations.
The parties involved m the
court action are waiting for
the judge to render a
decision. That decision
probably will not be handed
down for two weeks.
