Pseudorabies infects 6 herds LANCASTER—Two more Lancaster County swine herds were found to be in fected with pseudorabies during the past week, bringing the total number of infected herds in southeastern Pennsylvania to six. The infected herds now include four in Lancaster County and .one each in Dauphin and Lebanon counties. The Lancaster County herds are located in the northern and eastern sections, primarily the Denver and East Earl areas. The Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture’s investigation is continuing, according to Dr. John Cable, Chief of the Swine Health Division, Bureau of Animal Industry. Sixteen herds had been under quaratine, according to Dr. Cable, including precautionary measures taken with herds who had come into contact with in fected herds.
